1 Setting Up
Convenient management of roast records with its embedded software that keeps track of every roast.
All roasting data is automatically logged, which makes it much easier to manage roast profiles and production history. You can add a name, descriptions, and memos to each of your profile.
Consistently roast high quality coffee with reliable preheating and precise heat control.
Input heat level of natural gas varies by the pressure level, which can fluctuate even throughout a single day. Gas pressure gauge can help measure the change in pressure, but it requires the user to readjust the input heat level to the roaster according to the change in pressure. In addition, because the dial levels of gas roasters are not proportional to the actual amount of gas input, it becomes even more difficult to
measure the amount of heat transferred to the beans real-time.
On the other hand, electric roasters like S9 is not affected by the difference in pressure level and each control level is directly proportional to the amount of heat input.
Larger the batch size, greater the loss if roast is scorched or burnt. Users of S9 repeatedly tell us that the accurate measurement and control of the heat sources significantly help reduce the loss rate.
2 Preheating
Both drum interior and drum wall temperatures are heated to preset temperature levels.
The first and foremost element to invariable replication of saved roast profile is the consistent temperature of the air inside the drum and of the drum wall when the bean is inserted.
Measurement of traditional gas roaster’s drum wall temperature was simply not available and even when measured, the same temperature rating would yield different roasting results due to the difference in external environment, bean condition, and other uncontrollable variables. Though equipped with a variety of other measurement sensors, traditional roasters could not accurately predict the roasting trend
without accurate and continuous temperature measurement of the drum wall.
The smart roaster S9 measures temperature of the drum wall and the drum interior, and preheats them to the target temperatures. The Tower Drum sensor is embedded inside the stationary 5 layer drum structure and continuously measures and adjusts its temperature to perfectly mark target temperatures.
No need to be waiting in front of the roaster while preheating.
Set the two preheat temperatures, drum interior and the drum wall. The machine automatically heats up until both preset temperatures are reached. Message ‘Preheat complete. Ready to roast’ pops up on the screen with an alarm notification.
No need to set a timer nor constantly check the thermometer. S9 will notify you when it is ready for another batch at the exactly same preset temperatures.
3 Roasting
Take full control over the roaster with the tip of your finger.
You can easily control the hot air (convection heat) and the halogen (radiation heat) levels on the touch display, monitor the progress of your roast real-time, and automatically save all roasting data in the embedded Roastware. The intuitive control interface over the touchscreen is a privilege only available to users of the smart roaster.

Heat control is the key to coffee roasting
You can discretely control the hot air (convection) and the halogen (radiation) intensity from 0 to 20 levels. Precise and discrete control over the two heat sources allows users to develop and explore a wider range of flavors.
4 Discharging / Cooling
Faster cooling prevents post discharge development of beans
The cooling fan cools down the temperature of roasted beans to the room temperature within 1 min. 30 sec, which is approx. 1/3 of the time required by other roasters. Faster cooling prevents the residual heat of the beans to further develop after discharging.
*Relationship between cooling time and coffee flavor: According to a research, cooling duration after roast can have a significant impact on the flavor of beans. Exceeding 4 minutes, ‘sweetness’ of beans is significantly reduced. In general, the longer it takes to cool, the higher chances of over-roasted or parched beans, resulting in imbalanced taste.
No need to wait for some minutes to cool down. Finish the batch as soon as you are done roasting.
5 layer drum structure is designed to react quickly to change in heat control and with high durability. Unlike the traditional drum roasters, which the roaster had to stand around after roasting to gradually cool down the drum to prevent deformation, the S Series has eliminated such inefficiency as it can be shut down immediately and be entirely intact.
5 Consecutive Roasting
By preheating the drum while cooling previous batch, you can save time and increase productivity.
Preheating for a consecutive roast begins while cooling. By reducing the lead time to re-heat the drum, S9 can roast 4 batches an hour.

Once roast profile has been saved, there is no need to manually replicate the profile on your own.
